New BC Real Estate Association President and Board of Directors 
Scott Russell to Lead Provincial Real Estate Organization

Vancouver, BC – April 15, 2015. The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) is pleased to announce that Richmond REALTOR® Scott Russell has been elected as its 2015-2016 President.

"This is an exciting and important time for real estate in our province. I'm honoured to be President and help shape our industry and develop new tools for REALTORS® to provide exceptional service and value to consumers," said President Scott Russell. "I look forward to working collaboratively to advance our shared goals and serve the needs of BC REALTORS® and their clients."

Scott Russell is a broker and owner of Sutton Group – Seafair Realty in Richmond, and has over 35 years of experience. He was also President of the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver in 2009-2010.

Joining Mr. Russell as Officers of the Association are President-Elect Deanna Horn of RE/Max Treeland Realty in Langley, Past President Jake Moldowan of RE/MAX Jake Moldowan Realty and Versatile Development Group in Richmond, and Chief Executive Officer Robert Laing.

BCREA also welcomes new REALTOR® Directors David Kearney (Port Coquitlam) and Gary McInnis (Victoria), as well as Dick Pemberton (Kamloops) who is returning for another two-year term. Returning REALTOR® Directors include James Palanio (Penticton), Rosario Setticasi (North Vancouver) and Jim Stewart (Nanaimo). The Association also welcomes its two returning Public Directors, Anthony Ariganello and Sharon Bryan.

BCREA is the professional association for over 19,000 REALTORS® in BC, focusing on provincial issues that impact real estate. Working with the province's real estate boards, BCREA provides continuing professional education, advocacy, economic research and standard forms to help REALTORS® provide value for their clients.

To demonstrate the profession's commitment to improving Quality of Life in BC communities, BCREA supports policies that help ensure economic vitality, provide housing opportunities, preserve the environment, protect property owners and build better communities with good schools and safe neighbourhoods.
