Training Course for New REALTORS® Wins International Award
Vancouver, BC – September 14, 2015. The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) is pleased to
announce that the Residential Trading Services Applied Practice Course it developed and operates on
behalf of the Real Estate Council of British Columbia has won an Education Award in the Post-Licensing /
Continuing Education Course category from the Association of Real Estate License Law Officials
The course is designed to provide practical training in real estate to new real estate licensees to enable
them to confidently and effectively serve the public's real estate needs in a professional manner. BCREA
administers the course, which is a requirement for all new licensees, on behalf of the Real Estate Council
of British Columbia (RECBC) and it forms part of the total real estate licensing process.
"This award demonstrates what great things can be produced when the Real Estate Council and BCREA
collaborate to enhance professionalism. This is a good news story for both consumers and real estate
licensees in BC," said Robert Laing, Chief Executive Officer, BCREA.
Completely redesigned and relaunched in 2015, the course is a unique, interactive combination of
classroom and online learning, practical training exercises and mentorship that provides new real estate
licensees opportunities to apply and practice their regulatory obligations and demonstrate their
competence. Almost 1500 new licensees are expected to take the course in 2015.
"The Council is extremely pleased that the new Applied Practice Course has been recognized by ARELLO®.
The course is the culmination of outstanding work and collaboration by many wonderful individuals and
sets an excellent standard for education in the real estate industry," said Robert O. Fawcett, Chief
Executive Officers, RECBC.
