BCREA Welcomes New Real Estate Council Members
Vancouver, BC – October 13, 2016. The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) welcomes the appointment of the Real Estate Council of BC members, including Chair Robert D. Holmes.
"Our recommendation to government has stressed the importance of having Council members
who are thoroughly familiar with the practice of real estate in BC, including current industry
experience and expertise," said Robert Laing, BCREA CEO. "We are happy to see that will be the
case with the new Council and look forward to supporting them in their efforts, however we

the importance of having experienced and qualified individuals dealing with protecting the
public interest in real estate‐related matters.
Council composition was a major concern raised by real estate brokers and REALTORS® across
the province, and formed part of the public submission BCREA made to the government in
response to the Independent Advisory Group (IAG) recommendations, which can be found

BCREA is the professional association for over 20,000 REALTORS® in BC, focusing on provincial issues that impact real estate. Working with the province's 11 real estate boards, BCREA provides continuing professional education, advocacy, economic research and standard forms to help REALTORS® provide value for their clients.
