Scott Russell has served as a Director at the Real Estate Board of Greater Vancouver where he was President in 2009-2010 and a BCREA Director in the past. Active in the profession since 1980, he is a broker and owner of Sutton Group – Seafair Realty in Richmond.

James Palanio is a managing broker of Chamberlain Property Group, has been licensed since 2002. He is an active community volunteer on city advisory boards, non profit societies and at sporting events. 
Scott and James will start by showing us how its done and then in groups you will set the stage for mini-debates on a variety of topics impacting young REALTORS. Use your voice, negotiate your opinion and argue your side.

After winning over audiences from BC to Ontario, Gerry Halstrom is one of Canada’s most recognized voices in Real Estate training. He is also a senior instructor with the BC Real Estate Association. Mr. Halstrom offers seminar topics to industry professionals in many sales and marketing formats. Professionally, Mr. Halstrom has been a “super producer” in the Real Estate sales field building one of BC’s largest personal sales volumes in the project marketing sector. Additionally he has served as Senior Vice President in leading Real Estate and Health Technology companies. Mr. Halstrom has offices in both Vancouver & Toronto and is active in the Canadian Real Estate training & marketing sector from coast to coast.

Robert Laing, Chief Executive Officer
British Columbia Real Estate Association

Robert Laing joined the BCREA team in March 2000 as the Director of Government Relations, and he became the Association’s Chief Executive Officer in 2002. For almost 30 years, Robert has served the real estate profession in the roles of lawyer, educator and liaison to all levels of government, crown corporations and regulatory bodies. Before joining BCREA, he was head of The University of British Columbia's Faculty of Commerce and Business Administration's Real Estate Division.

Scott McLean, Consultant

Scott McLean is an independent consultant. Prior to starting his own company, he was a partner and the leader of the BC Consulting & Deals practice of PwC Canada. He specializes in major organizational change initiatives and post-merger integration and has broad experience advising clients on performance improvement issues.  Scott started his career with Imperial Oil / Esso as a project engineer and was promoted through roles in sales, marketing and operations followed by a wide range of special projects.  Scott joined PwC as a management consultant in 1995, then returned to industry in 2000 as the senior VP of Supply Chain & IT with Fletcher Challenge PaperCo.  He returned to PwC in 2004, was admitted to the partnership in 2007 and retired earlier this year.”   

Kevin Skipworth, Managing Broker
Dexter Associates Realty

Kevin is the Managing Broker of Dexter Associates Realty in Yaletown. After earning a degree in Economics, he started his working life in customer service, moved up to management, and then changed direction by becoming a Realtor with Dexter Associates Realty. While he spends some of his time managing the office, he still looks after the needs of his clients and anyone looking for real estate services. With the experience and knowledge he has gained in this position, he strives to exceed his clients' real estate needs.

Chris is a marketing strategy and systems expert.  While working in different verticals, including e-commerce, retail, food/beverage and real estate; Chris impacts the bottom line by improving marketing and creating new revenue streams.  While working his first job in retail, he built an online store to boost sales which led to taking on projects for companies who needed to get to the next level.  Prior to Tangle Creative, Chris was a partner at a real estate focused marketing firm that grew its portfolio from $30 million to $240 in 9 months and was acquired by a larger firm. Chris has his BBA in Business Management and a Diploma of Marketing.
