The BC Real Estate Association (BCREA) Board of Directors is looking for three to five qualified nominees to recommend to the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia (LTSA) Board of Directors. This appointment term is three years and would commence on April 1, 2023.
About the Land Title and Survey Authority of British Columbia
LTSA is a publicly accountable, statutory corporation formed in 2005 responsible for operating the land title and survey systems of BC. These systems provide the foundation for all real property business and ownership in the province.
LTSA delivers secure land titles through timely and efficient registration of land title interests and survey records. These services are an essential underpinning to BC’s private property market and the civil justice system, and to BC’s civic governance, taxation and Crown land management frameworks.
LTSA also encompasses its wholly-owned subsidiary, LandSure Systems (LandSure). LandSure develops and operates LTSA’s mission-critical technology to enable land-related transactions. With support from the LandSure team, LTSA processes over four million online business transactions each year.
Skills and Experience
The Board is seeking nominees with skills relating to new venture development, accounting and finance, and human resources management.
In addition to LTSA’s strategy to maintain focus on operational excellence, the LTSA is seeking directors whose experience will support strengthening the land title and survey systems through strategic investment in modern technologies and expanding land and property data service offerings across the real property market value chain in the public interest. The Board would benefit from members who have an appreciation for entrepreneurship, and a recognition of the value of innovation as an opportunity.
Director appointments must reflect the Board authorized personal qualifications (described generally as the “skills and experience”). The full list of Skills and Experience can be found here.
The Board has an interest in ensuring the composition of the Board reflects the geographic representation and diversity of the people and interests served by the land title and survey systems of British Columbia. The Board is particularly interested in receiving nominations that will support increasing gender diversity and rural and ethnic origin on the Board.
The deadline to submit your application is Wednesday, November 30, 2022.
The BCREA Nominating Committee thanks all applicants, however, only those selected as potential nominees will be contacted.
