BCREA’s Legal Defence Reserve (LDR) is a program created to aid REALTORS® by supporting litigation or providing legal assistance.

Here are three things you need to know about this useful support system for Realtors:

  1. Scope
The LDR is designed to support Realtors with disciplinary hearings or legal challenges considered to have provincial significance which could impact a large number of Realtors, or the real estate profession as a whole.

  2. Allocation of funds
Funds from the reserve could be used to cover legal and other costs related to the litigation or disciplinary matters for legal actions that are approved by the BCREA Legal Defence Committee.

  3. Application process
To apply, visit the Legal Defence Reserve page on BCREA Access, complete an application form and submit it – along with written support from your managing broker and member board – via email to [email protected].

BCREA will ensure the submission meets the prescribed criteria to be forwarded to the Legal Defence Committee (LDC). The LDC will then review the submission and you will be contacted with their decision.
