TAGS: Managing Brokers Risk Management What Would You Do Presentation Series
There are two new presentations available in the What Would You Do? Presentation Series, created by BCREA, the Real Estate Council of BC (RECBC) and the Real Estate Errors & Omissions Insurance Corporation (E&O). These PowerPoint presentations explore the risks around conflicts of interest and misrepresentations and are now available for download on REALTOR Link®. Managing brokers can give these presentations to REALTORS® to facilitate discussions around these common areas of risk in real estate practice.
New presentation content
Each presentation follows a real estate professional through a transaction where they find themselves in a risky situation and must determine how to proceed. One presentation follows Dakota, who is presented with a conflict of interest when she wants to purchase a home listed by one of her team members. The other presentation follows Jaspreet, a sellers’ real estate professional who unknowingly makes a misrepresentation that is later discovered by the buyers. Each presentation also includes two case studies, provided by RECBC and E&O, that pertain to the area of risk being considered and explore how risk could have been mitigated in these scenarios.
Virtual ‘train the trainer’ session
We will be offering a virtual ‘train the trainer’ session at the Managing Broker Community of Practice on Wednesday, November 18 at 10:00 am, where we will review these two presentations and provide tips on how managing brokers can give the presentations to their Realtors. About the What Would You Do? Presentation Series
The What Would You Do? Presentation Series is a joint project between BCREA, RECBC and E&O and is intended to support managing brokers in facilitating discussions around risk management. The series was created based on requests from managing brokers for support, content, and resources for office meetings and training.
