We Are
The British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) represents the 12 member boards in
British Columbia and their approximately 18,000 REALTORS® on all provincial
issues, providing an extensive communications network, applied practice courses and continuing professional education (cpe), economic research and analysis, standard forms and
government relations.
To demonstrate the profession’s commitment to improving Quality of Life in BC communities, BCREA supports policies that encourage economic vitality, provide housing opportunities, respect the environment and build communities with good schools and safe neighbourhoods.
REALTORS® helped their clients sell 85,028 homes on the Multiple Listing Service® (MLS®) last year, a 23 per cent decline from 2008. Consumers invested $39.5 billion in residential real estate across BC in 2009, a rise of 26 per cent compared to 2008. The average MLS® residential price in 2009 was $465,725, up 2.5 per cent from 2008.
