The staff, directors, and members of the British Columbia Real Estate Association (BCREA) would like to extend our support to those affected by the devastating 2026 BC wildfire season. Many British Columbians have lost homes, and many more have been evacuated.

As efforts to fight and contain the fires continue, the Canadian and BC real estate communities are stepping up to help.

2026 British Columbia Wildfires Appeal

The Canadian Real Estate Association has launched a fundraising campaign in support of the Canadian Red Cross’s 2026 British Columbia Wildfires Appeal.

Donations will support the ongoing relief, recovery, and resilience efforts in response to the wildfires, as well as community preparedness and risk reduction for future all-hazard disaster events within British Columbia. Funds will also be used to support mobilization of response and community partners.

Call for Donations Yields Overwhelming Response

Kim Heizmann, Okanagan REALTOR® and Chair of the BCREA Board of Directors, issued a call for donations to help those impacted by the Bradley Creek wildfire.

After her call went out on Sunday, August 2, 2026, Heizmann received a steady stream of donations that filled her Oakwyn Realty real estate office in Vernon, BC. Volunteers began distributing the items the following day.
