August 9, 2023 – WorkSafeBC and Real Estate
On Wednesday, August 9, we were joined by Cheryl Dulay, OH&S Consultant for WorkSafeBC, and Courtney Ehinger, Research & Evaluation Analyst for WorkSafeBC. Cheryl and Courtney provided an informative session on employers’ health and safety responsibilities, how to create a safe work environment, how status is determined, when registration is mandatory/optional, how to check registration status, and more.
An important takeaway from this session was that “If you have incorporated, you are an employer, and WorkSafeBC registration is mandatory. The corporation is a separate legal entity from its shareholder and the shareholder automatically becomes a worker.” See the session recording for more details.
