Aiming Higher: Enhancing REALTOR® Professionalism

In Aiming Higher: Enhancing REALTOR® Professionalism, REALTORS® will define what it means to be professional and study CREA’s REALTOR® Code of Ethics, applying professional conduct and professional standards to practice-based scenarios. Learners will also compare the REALTOR® Code with governing legislation to analyze whether certain actions and decisions can be legal but not professional and why. This course will cover professionalism as it interacts with the following six arenas in which Realtors practice and are held accountable: the courts, the regulator, the boards, the brokerage, public opinion, and client opinion.

By the end of this course, learners will be equipped with a broader and deeper understanding of professional standards and professionalism. They will be familiar with their professional obligations under the REALTOR® Code, who enforces the REALTOR® Code, and what additional professional obligations they may have under their local board and brokerage. Learners will also understand the importance of considering client opinion and the impact of public opinion on the individual Realtor and the industry.

Aiming Higher: Enhancing REALTOR® Professionalism offers Realtors a crash course in professionalism and examines how Realtors can improve and solidify their position as trustworthy and upstanding community members. This course is designed for new Realtors, though those who have been in the profession for a while may also benefit from a refresher on the REALTOR® Code.

Note: we highly recommend that Realtors read the REALTOR® Code prior to attending class.
