Advertising Clinic: Do’s and Don’ts
Think of all the time and money you spend on advertising; from your business cards to your website, from your brochures and flyers to your newspaper ads, pens, fridge magnets and lawn signs. The list is endless.
Do it wrong, and you could damage client relationships and/or irritate colleagues, whose cooperation you may need down the road. Worse, you could also damage your own reputation.
Do it right – follow the rules and guidelines set out in the REALTOR® Code, Rules of Cooperation, Real Estate Services and Competition Acts – and advertising can become your ultimate competitive advantage.
Using case studies and polls, this interactive three-and-a-half hour course will help you better understand your obligations with respect to these advertising standards.
Learning objectives:
- By participating in this course, you will be able to:
- Explain the history and role that advertising plays in society and why standards are important

- Differentiate between the various advertising regimes and their standards
- Create advertising content that meets professional standards
- Apply the A.I.D.A. Advertising model to sample listings
- Develop an action plan to improve your skills in creating effective advertising
