REALTOR® Community
As a new REALTOR®, you join a growing community of more than 26,000 REALTORS® in British Columbia. As you establish your career as a real estate professional, you will be involved with various members in the REALTOR® Community, such as your brokerage, member board, BCREA, CREA and regulator.
BCREA is the professional association for approximately 26,000 commercial and residential REALTORS® in BC. Working with our members, BC’s eight real estate boards, we provide professional development, advocacy, economic research and standard forms.
The Canadian Real Estate Association oversees the REALTOR® brand and trademark, REALTOR® Code of Ethics, federal government advocacy and conducts economic research.
A local organization to which REALTORS® belong and which are members of BCREA and CREA. Boards work closely with REALTORS® to provide support and member services in a number of areas, including managing Multiple Listing Service® Systems, education, marketing and professional standards.
A real estate company under which a REALTOR® is licensed. The brokerage is the entity through which consumers receive real estate services.
The provincial regulator provides oversight of the real estate sector in BC, including licensing, mandatory education and discipline. As of August 1, 2021 the BC Financial Services Authority has regulatory authority over real estate services.
