REALTOR® Education

Who does what?
RECBC Real Estate Council of BC

The Real Estate Council of BC is the regulatory body responsible for the mandatory education real estate licensees need to get and keep a real estate trading services license, like the Applied Practice Course and Legal Update.

UBC’s Sauder School of Business hosts the online portions of these courses on behalf of the Council.

Until September 30, 2019, BCREA will continue to administer Legal Update. After that, the Council will assume full responsibility for this course and BCREA will have no involvement in any aspect of mandatory licensing education.

BCREA develops and offers professional development opportunities to support commercial and residential REALTORS® throughout their careers.

BCREA is also the steward of REALTOR® professional development in BC. Working with the province’s 11 real estate boards, BCREA ensures BC’s professional development framework for REALTORS® reflects best practices in adult learning and accredits professional development opportunities developed by third-parties.
